Volleyball Wins Two to Close Out Cross-Divisional

The Austin College volleyball team picked up a pair of victories on Sunday in San Antonio, topping Schreiner 3-0 before knocking off Texas Lutheran by a score of 3-1 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional. The 'Roos are now 12-6 overall and 4-3 in SCAC play this season.

In the first match of the day against Schreiner, the 'Roos swept the Mountaineers by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-22 with Presleigh Watson and Reygan Holloman each tallying six kills to lead the way. Watson also had four block assists in the win, and Rachel Fusselman had 25 digs in the victory. Katie Ingle had a team-best 15 assists, while Madi McVay had 14 digs.

Against TLU, the 'Roos took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19 before dropping the third set 25-19, bouncing back with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set to clinch the victory. Madison Lee had 10 kills to pace the 'Roos, while Watson and Dani DeWitt each had eight kills in the win. Rebekah Bowden had seven block assists, and Katie Ingle had an outstanding all-around match with 20 assists, 19 digs, and six kills. Fusselman again led the team with 21 digs.

Fusselman now has 1,954 digs in her career, putting her just 14 shy of tying the all-time Austin College career record of 1,968. She and the 'Roos will be back in action this weekend when they head to California for four matches beginning on Friday.
