'Roo Volleyball Sweeps Jarvis Christian and Dallas Christian

The Austin College volleyball team cruised to a pair of victories over visiting Jarvis Christian College and Dallas Christian College on Tuesday night, topping both teams by scores of 3-0. The 'Roos are now 17-8 overall this season with the victories.

The 'Roos got a battle in the first set against Jarvis Christian, holding on for a 25-23 victory before taking full control for wins of 25-14 and 25-10 in the final two sets. Austin College used a team hitting percentage of .363, with Presleigh Watson leading the way with 10 kills and a .529 hitting percentage to go along with five total blocks, including three block solos.

Rebecca Franklin and Madison Lee each had six kills and Rachel Fusselman had 10 digs to lead Austin College. Lauren Wulz and Chandler Sherman each had 14 assists in the victory, which saw eight different 'Roos register multiple kills.

Austin College dominated from the start in the second match against Dallas Christian, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-12 and once again boasting a strong hitting percentage at .333. Watson once again led the 'Roos with 10 kills and a .625 hitting percentage and added nine block assists, while Franklin finished with seven kills and seven total blocks.

Wulz led Austin College with 12 assists, and Fusselman had six digs. The 'Roos were outstanding at the net, totaling two block solos and 20 block assists in the match, and Wulz, Sherman, and Madi McVay each had a pair of service aces in the win.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
