Volleyball Takes One of Two on Day Two of SCAC Divisional

The Austin College volleyball team split its two matches on day two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional on Sunday, topping Schreiner 3-2 before falling 3-0 to Southwestern University. The 'Roos are now 18-17 overall and 5-9 in SCAC play on the year.

In the team's first match of the day against Schreiner, the 'Roos got 19 kills and 10 digs from Shelby Eaves to lead the way offensively as Austin College won 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-8 over the Mountaineers. Madison Lee had 12 kills and Presleigh Watson added 10, while Kelsey Klingler had 33 assists and Alyse Magnuson had 16 in the win. Rachel Fusselman led the 'Roos with 29 digs.

Against Southwestern, the 'Roos fell 23-25, 21-25, 19-25 to the Pirates despite 13 kills and 14 digs from Eaves and a match-high 20 digs from Fusselman. Lee had nine kills and Watson and Bekah Newberry each had six, and Magnuson had 33 assists in the loss.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
