Volleyball Takes One of Two on AC Classic Day Two

The Austin College volleyball team took one of its two matches on day two of the 18th Annual Austin College Classic on Saturday, falling 3-1 to Southwestern Assemblies of God before topping Concordia 3-0. The 'Roos are now 6-4 overall this season.

Against SAGU, the 'Roos fell by scores of 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 12-25, with Shelby Eaves recording a team-high 17 kills in the loss. Eaves added seven digs, and Rachel Fusselman had a team-best 10 digs in the match. Bekah Newberry had nine kills in the loss, while Kelsey Klingler had 41 assists.

In the second match the 'Roos cruised to a 25-16, 25-17, 25-20 victory thanks to a team hitting percentage of .279, and Eaves once again led the way with 16 kills. Newberry once again had nine, and Madison Lee added eight with zero hitting errors. Fusselman led the 'Roos with 10 digs and Klingler once again recorded a team-best 31 assists in the victory.

The 'Roos head out on the road next weekend when they travel to Memphis for the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
