The Austin College volleyball team's victory over Centenary College at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Divisional in San Antonio on Sunday was an historic one, as it marked the 500th career coaching victory for Ed Garza. With the win the 'Roos improve to 19-11 this season, bringing Garza's career collegiate coaching record to 500-176.
The 'Roos defeated Centenary in three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-18, 25-13. Shelby Eaves tallied a team high 11 kills and added 11 digs, and Kelly McDaniel had 37 assists to lead the 'Roos. Adrienne Reynolds led the team with 19 digs and Ally Ahlberg added 10 kills as the 'Roos had just nine attack errors in the match as a team.
Austin College will be looking to close out the weekend with a perfect record when they take on Trinity at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.
