'Roos Defeat Colorado College 9-0 in Women's Tennis

GEORGETOWN, Tex. - The Kangaroo Women's Tennis Team posted just their second 9-0 victory of the season; this time in a rematch of last year's SCAC Tournament Semi-Final with Colorado College at the Marvin D. Henderson Tennis Center on the campus of Southwestern University.

  In the previous 5 meetings, Colorado College took the lead over Austin College at the conclusion of the doubles portion of each match.  This year, Austin College not only found themselves ahead of the Tigers going into singles, but swept Colorado College 3-0 coming out of doubles.  Georgia Moore and Katie Seibert demolished their Tiger opponents 8-1 at Line 3 to put the Kangaroos ahead.  Kirsten Weber and Anna Sergiovanni won 8-2 at Line 2 to clinch a lead going into singles, and current West Region #10 Doubles Team, Diana Carvajalino and Melody Duong, won a closely contested tiebreaker 8-7 (7-2) to complete the sweep.

  Sergiovanni continued her winning ways on the singles court, pushing the lead to 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 performance at Line 3 singles, and Chandler Morris clinched her second match in-a-row for the Kangaroos, winning her Line 4 singles match 6-1, 6-1.  From there, Diana Carvajalino won 6-3, 6-1 at Line 2, Melody Duong won a close match at Line 1, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), Georgia Moore won 6-0, 6-0 at Line 6, and Kirsten Weber completed the sweep 6-1, 6-1 at Line 5.

  Austin College returns to the tennis courts tomorrow, 4/6 against #21 Southwestern University in Georgetown at 4:00PM.
