Women's Tennis Battles Navy; Fall to #30 Case Western 8-1

ORLANDO, Fla. - An historic day for the Women's Tennis Program of Austin College as the Kangaroos kicked off the second day of their Spring Break Tour in Orlando, FL by facing the United States Naval Academy, and the #30 Case Western Reserve University Spartans.

Though both matches would end in defeat, the Kangaroos fought intensely against their opponents, with both Line 1 Singles matches ending in third set super tiebreakers.

In the morning match, Diana Carvajalino would play the "match of the day," claiming the second set against her Midshipwoman opponent before falling in a closely contested 10-8 super tiebreaker.  The final score would read 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) in favor of Navy.

Later that evening, Carvajalino and Duong would partner up again for a tremendous victory over the Line 1 Spartan Doubles Team, 8-5.  Madeleine Paolucci and her partner during the fall semester finished 2018 ranked number 3 in the Nation in Women's Doubles.

Duong would play her heart out in singles against Paolucci, falling 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) in a match that lasted over 2 hours.  The 'Roos would be unable to claim another point, but will return to the courts against Wheaton (IL) at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL at 12:00PM Eastern.
