LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College women's tennis player Melody Duong has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office has announced.
Duong, a freshman from League City, had an outstanding weekend as the 'Roos traveled to the Pacific Northwest. Playing both line one and line two singles, Duong went 1-1 at both positions. In the team's match against Lewis & Clark, Duong played at line one singles and defeated the nation's No. 50-ranked singles player in NCAA Division III. One of her losses was also a third-set tiebreaker against the No. 35-ranked player in the nation.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
