Women's Tennis Prevails 8-1 Over Eagles
Women 3-1 on weekend, 6-4 on the season
SHERMAN, Tex. - Austin College battled the University of the Ozarks to an 8-1 victory on a cold and windy February morning in North Texas; their 4th match in 36 hours.
Women's Tennis swept the Doubles Competition with every duo playing at lead 1 line higher than in previous matches. Kate Willis and Magan Green locked in the 3-0 sweep moving into Singles Competition with an 8-6 victory at Line 2.
Singles was relatively decisive for the Women's Tennis Team. All Kangaroo Players took the first sets 6-2 or better.
Green extended the lead to 4-0 with a Line 4 victory, and Katie Seibert recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory to clinch the match for Austin College.
Anna Sergiovanni recorded her 3rd victory of the weekend with a 6-1, 6-2 win over a familiar competitor from earlier in Fall 2016.
Kate Willis cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at Line 5 singles, while Brenna McCown earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory to close the books on the Team win.
Austin College has several weeks off before returning to the tennis courts on Friday, March 24th vs. the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at Home. First serve is set for 5:30PM.
