RICHARDSON, Tex. - The Austin College Women's Tennis Team travelled to the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas for a fall tournament between the Kangaroos, Comets, the North Central Texas College Lions, and the Texas A&M University - Texarkana Eagles.
The 'Roos started with TAMU-T on Friday night, winning two-out-of-three singles flights and one doubles flight against the Eagles. Kirsten Weber avenged a loss from the previous year against Daejia Lynch in exhibition singles 6-0, 6-2.
Anna Sergiovanni and Katie Seibert didn't take long to get their first victories on the doubles and singles courts, picking up an 8-6 exhibition victory together in doubles, before taking Flight 1 and Flight 2 Singles against TAMU-T in straight sets.
All 10 Kangaroo Women's Tennis Players saw action on Saturday against NCTC and UTD, with the 'Roos taking Singles Flights 2 and 3 from the Comets of UTD with Anamariia Kheveli and Brenna McCown performing well at their respective spots.
This next weekend, Austin College will compete in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships hosted in Abilene, TX on the campuses of Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry University. Qualifying Rounds begin on Thursday at 6:00pm at HSU, and Friday morning at 8:00am will be the start of the main singles competition.
