Roos Fall in ITA Semi-Final Matches

GEORGETOWN, Tx - The Austin College Women's Tennis Team returned home from a long weekend of competition on the campus of Southwestern University, but not without some singles and doubles wins.

Meghan White and Carlye Lide both advanced to the consolation semi-finals of the A and B Draws respectively, and neither were able to win their way to the finals on the final day of competition.

White would find herself in long, grinding rallies against the eventual champion from East Texas Baptist University, but unforced errors deep in the point and some well timed winners from her opponent were the staple of the match, ending 6-2, 6-2 in favor of ETBU.

After dropping a quick first set 6-2 to Kniffen of UT-Tyler, Lide battled to a tiebreaker for the second set to force the match to her fourth super-tiebreaker in the tournaent.  UTT played well in the 'breaker, making strong strikes to the corners and forcing errors from Lide on the ground.  The match closed at 6-2, 7-6 (3).

The Women's Tennis Team returns to action at home on Thursday, October 8th at 3pm vs Seminole State.
