The Austin College women's tennis team topped Texas Lutheran 5-3 to earn a fifth place finish at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon. The 'Roos finish the season with an overall record of 8-9.
The 'Roos took two of three doubles matches, with the number two team of Cierra White and Kate Willis winning a hard fought 8-6 match and the number three team of Carlye Lide and Magan Green cruising to an 8-1 victory. The number one team of Sophie McDonald and Meghan White fell 8-2.
In singles action, McDonald and Meghan White fell at numbers one and two, but the 'Roos swept flights three through five to clinch the victory. Cierra White took a 6-3, 6-1 win at number three, Willis won 6-4, 6-3 at number four, and Aardra Venkatachalam was dominant in a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five singles.
