Women's Tennis Edged by Southwestern

The Austin College women's tennis team was narrowly edged 5-4 by visiting Southwestern University on Sunday, bringing the team's record to 2-8 overall this season. The 'Roos took three of six singles matches but were topped in two of three doubles matches in the loss.

The doubles team of Carlye Lide and Magan Green earned an 8-5 win at number three doubles, while in singles action, Sophie McDonald won in straight sets playing flight one, taking a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Also earning singles wins were Cierra White and Aardra Venkatchalam. White won at number three singles by scores of 6-3, 6-0, and Venkatchalam won 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.
