Women's Swimming Splits with McMurry and Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Austin College women's swimming and diving team got the season off to a strong start over the weekend, topping McMurry 102-73 on Friday before falling to host school Colorado College 173-31 on Saturday.

On Friday, the 'Roos opened the day with a win in the 200 medley relay with the team of Chloe Hunt, Jade Kemp, Zuni Rubio, and Eleanna Martinez finishing with a time of 2:07.64, and Hunt would add a first place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:18.38. Martinez brought home first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.94, and Rubio added another win in the 200 individual medley, touching with a time of 2:36.45. 

Kemp and Becca Tobias took first and second in the 100 butterfly, and Hunt added another victory in the 100 freestyle. Rubio later picked up another individual win, this time in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:21.44, and the team of Tobias, Keely Perry, Willa White, and Louisa White brought home a victory in the 400 free relay. 

On Saturday against Colorado College, Tobias finished second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:37.07, and Hunt's time of 2:27.87 was good for third in the 200 backstroke. Perry had a third place finish in the 500 free, coming in with a time of 6:27.98, and Rubio added a third place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 3:00.03.
