Women's Swimming Falls to Tigers but Cruises Past Ozarks

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's swimming and diving team fell 196.00-35.00 to Colorado College, but the 'Roos cruised to a 138.00-36.00 victory over the University of the Ozarks in a double dual meet on Saturday afternoon in Hannah Natatorium.

The 'Roos got things started with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay, with the team of Jennifer Liang, Mandi Sarembock, Sophie Garriga, and Matea Stanisic finishing with a time of 2:09.98 in the event. Sarah Edzards added a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:43.51, and Garriga had a strong performance in the 200 IM with a second place finish and a time of 2:26.35. Garriga added a third place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, touching with a time of 1:06.91, and Katie Voelkel came in fourth in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:03.80. 

Bailey Clark added a fifth place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke and Liang placed fourth in the 100 yard backstroke, while the team of Voelkel, Mary Cheadle, Edzards, and Clark came in third in the 400 yard free relay. The team placed with a time of 4:19.81 in the event.
