'Roo Women's Swimming Performs Well to Top St. Gregory's

The Austin College women's swimming and diving team put together a strong team effort to defeat visiting St. Gregory's, winning 104-67 on Saturday in Hannah Natatorium.

The 'Roos got a number of first place finishes, with Sarah Edzards touching with a time of 12:42.19 to get the win in the 1000 yard freestyle to kick things off. Ana Acobyan came in with a time of 1:10.31 to get a first place finish in the 100 free, with Edzards once again earning a victory in the 500 free with a time of 6:04.07.

Sophie Garriga earned first place points in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:25.81, while Margaux McCartney and Katherine Tuttle were first and second in the 1-meter diving event. McCartney scored 197.30, while Tuttle had a score of 170.60 in the event. Garriga, meanwhile, added another win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:05.62.
