'Roo Swimming Continues Strong Showing at SCAC Meet

The Austin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams had some solid performances on Friday at the SCAC Championship meet in Lewisville.

The women got strong diving performances from Margaux McCartney and Katherine Tuttle, who placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 3-meter event. McCartney scored 264.50, while Tuttle had a score of 202.60 in the event. Lauren Wheeler had another good performance in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing second and earning All-Conference with a time of 58.58. The 'Roos also finished sixth in the 400 medley relay, with the team of Bailey Clark, Jade Ross, Caitlyn Brugger, and Tianna Anderson finishing with a time of 4:48.19.

On the men's side, Parker Adams placed fourth in the 1-meter diving event, finishing with a score of 217.65. Erik Gentzel had another strong swim for the 'Roos in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing seventh with a time of 55.41, and Josh Chanin placed eighth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:29.79. The 'Roos took fifth in the 400 medley relay, with the team of Gentzel, Chanin, Amit Pullarkat, and Tyler Brown finishing with a time of 3:41.09.
