LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College women's swimmer Lauren Wheeler and diver Margaux McCartney have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the league office has announced.
Wheeler, a senior from Southlake, won the 50 (25.65), the 100 backstroke (1:00.49), and placed 2nd in the 200 backstroke (2:12.69) at the Austin College Invitational. Wheeler and the 'Roos placed third at the meet. This is the third time in her career Wheeler has earned this honor, and her first time this season.
McCartney, sophomore from Mont Belvieu, won both the 1 meter (184.65) & 3 meter (174.35) diving competitions this past weekend at the Austin College Invitational. This is the second time in her career that McCartney has earned this honor, and the first time this season.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
