Women's Soccer Falls to Dallas

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team gave up one goal in each half and was unable to counter, as the 'Roos fell to the University of Dallas 2-0 on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now 1-7 overall on the year.

The 'Roos and Crusaders engaged in a defensive battle for most of the first half, with neither team able to find many opportunities offensively. Just as the game appeared headed into the break scoreless, UD's Avery Seaman launched a shot from 25 yards out that went just under the crossbar to make it a 1-0 game in the 43rd minute of action. The Crusaders ended up out-shooting the 'Roos 12-4 in the opening half.

The score remained 1-0 deep into the second half, as Austin College managed to turn the Crusaders away repeatedly until the 83rd minute, when Claire Reed put a shot in the upper right corner from 20 yards away to make it a 2-0 game, and that's how things would end. Dallas held a 14-5 shot advantage after halftime, including putting nine shots on target. Kenedie Lane finished with 11 saves for Austin College, while Kaitlyn Vess saved both shots she faced in the game for the Crusaders.
