'Roos Fall at UT-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but a big second half for the University of Texas-Dallas led to a 4-1 defeat for the 'Roos on Sunday evening in the team's first road match of the season. The 'Roos are now 1-1 on the year.

Austin College struck first, getting on the board at the 15:23 mark in the opening half when Sydney Padget tallied for the first time this season on assists from Noora Elibiary and Rose Cortez. That was one of just two shot attempts the 'Roos managed in the first half, but a strong defensive effort allowed Austin College to take a 1-0 lead into the break despite 18 shots from the Comets.

However, UT-Dallas quickly took the lead in the second half, scoring twice in just over a minute to go on top 2-1. The Comets struck first at the 54:12 mark, and then got the go-ahead goal at the 55:22 mark. UTD added another goal in the 62nd minute of action to go ahead 3-1, and the Comets found the net one more time at the 74:14 mark to make it a 4-1 final.

Texas-Dallas held a 31-3 shot advantage in the game, with Meredith Harris making 13 saves for Austin College in the loss.
