'Roos Battle to Draw in Regular Season Finale

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw in the team's final game of the regular season, settling for a 0-0 result after two overtimes against Centenary. The 'Roos are now 4-13-1 overall and 3-8-1 in conference play as they head to next week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

It was a defensive battle from the start, with the Ladies out-shooting Austin College 6-3 while most of the action was contained to the midfield. The strong defensive efforts for both sides continued after the break, with the 'Roos getting five shots to just two for Centenary but again, neither team was able to get on the board.

Both teams had two shots in the first overtime, with Austin College getting perhaps the best chance of the match with a scrum for the ball in front of the Centenary net, but Bayleigh Green's attempt went just wide of the net to keep things scoreless, and that's how things would end after the second extra period.

Maya Erwin had five saves for Austin College to earn the clean sheet, while Maggie Pitcher had two stops for Centenary.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
