Women's Soccer Earns Road Win at Dallas

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team got a second half tally from Sarah Battles and the 'Roos would earn a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over the University of Dallas on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 3-4 overall and 2-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the victory.

Dallas owned an 11-5 shot advantage in the first half but a strong defensive effort led by keeper Maya Erwin kept the Crusaders off the board. The 'Roos narrowed the gap in shots in the second half, but it would only take one to secure the victory. In the 57th minute of action, Karolina Cruz found Battles, who launched a long strike over the Dallas keeper's head for her third goal of the season and what would wind up being the game-winner.

Austin College was out-shot 19-12, but Erwin finished with seven saves to get the shutout. Olivia Severson made five stops for the Crusaders.
