SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College women's soccer team surrendered a goal in each half and found themselves out-shot 31-11, as the 'Roos fell to Texas Lutheran 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. Austin College is now 2-4 overall and 1-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Texas Lutheran got on the scoreboard in the 35th minute of action when Jaclyn Smolik found the back of the net from the top of the box on a feed from Bailey Nimtz. That would be the lone tally of the half, as the Bulldogs took a 1-0 edge over the 'Roos into halftime.

Austin College had a few strong chances to equalize in the second half, but it was TLU who would once again get on the scoreboard with a shot from Smolik from 20 yards out finding its way across the line to make it 2-0. That's how things would end, as Maya Erwin made 10 saves for the 'Roos in defeat while Stephanie Barrientos and Mikaela Gilbert combining for six saves for the Bulldogs.
