No. 3 Trinity Too Much for 'Roo Women

The Austin College women's soccer team fell in a 5-0 first half hole and was unable to climb out against No. 3-ranked Trinity University, falling 7-0 to the high-powered Tigers on Friday. The 'Roos are now 3-10-1 overall and 1-7-1 in SCAC play this season.

Trinity used goals in the 14th and 23rd minutes to break things open, and added a third goal in the 31st minute of the first half. The Tigers would tally twice more in the opening frame, scoring in the 42nd minute and then again just before halftime to make it a 5-0 margin.

The Tigers out-shot Austin College 23-1 in the first half as they took their commanding lead, and added two more goals after halftime, first in the 67th minute and then again in the 77th minute. For the game, Trinity held a 36-4 edge in shots, including a 20-2 advantage in shots on goal. Laura McGee made 13 saves for Austin College.
