No. 3 Trinity Tops 'Roo Women 5-0

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College women's soccer team fell 5-0 to No. 3-ranked Trinity University on Friday, as the 'Roos were unable to match the offensive firepower of the Tigers. Austin College falls to 2-5-1 overall and 0-3-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss.

Trinity used a 35-3 shot advantage in the match and had 17 corner kicks to just one for the 'Roos as the Tigers managed to dominate much of the action. Trinity's Julia Camp scored four times, including finding the net in the 9th, 16th, and 21st minutes of the first half as the Tigers took a 3-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, Camp would add her fourth goal in the 69th minute of action to make it 4-0, and the Tigers got one more in the 82nd minute when Tierney Thomison curled a shot into the upper left corner from 40 yards out to make it a 5-0 final.

Laura McGee made six saves in goal for Austin College. The 'Roos will be looking to rebound on Sunday when they host Schreiner University at 2:00 p.m.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
