Women's Soccer Eliminated from SCAC Tournament in OT

The Austin College women's soccer team saw its season come to a close in an overtime heartbreaker, falling 2-1 to Texas Lutheran. The 'Roos finish the season with an overall record of 3-14-2 with the loss.

After a scoreless first half, Texas Lutheran took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Claudia Trevino in the 62nd minute of action, but Austin College would equalize in the 81st minute when the 'Roos capitalized on a takedown in the penalty area, resulting in a Cami Mavelian PK to square things at 1-1. That would be the final tally of regulation, as the teams headed to the first overtime period.

However, Texas Lutheran would get the golden goal in the 96th minute of play when a corner kick by Sioned Kirkpatrick curled directly into the net to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 win over the 'Roos. Austin College entered the tournament as the No. 6-seed, while TLU earned the No. 3-seed. This was the third meeting of the year between the two sides, with TLU escaping by a single goal in each of the three matches.

Laura McGee made 11 saves in net for Austin College as TLU used a 22-13 edge in shots to end the season for the 'Roos.
