Eckart Tallies Twice as 'Roos Top Centenary
Eric Eckart scored two goals and Anessa Tomblin added a late tally to help the Austin College women's soccer team open up Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 win over Centenary on Friday.

Eric Eckart scored two goals and Anessa Tomblin added a late tally to help the Austin College women's soccer team open up Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 win over Centenary on Friday. The 'Roos are now 2-3 overall and 1-0 in conference with the win.
The 'Roos jumped ahead early as Eckart found the net in just the fourth minute of action, but Centenary's Maddy Brown scored in the 40th minute to send the teams into halftime square at 1-1. Eckart scored her second goal in the 60th minute to break the tie, in what would prove to be the game-winner, and Tomblin took a feed from Ashley Rice and punched it home in the 68th minute to make it a 3-1 final.
Laura McGee made seven saves as Austin College and Centenary each fired 20 shots in the match. The 'Roos will look to keep things rolling on Saturday when they take on Millsaps.
