The Austin College women's soccer team earned a dramatic victory on a Mandi Sherwood goal at the 88:59 mark to top Howard Payne 1-0 in the team's season opener on Saturday.
The 'Roos managed only four shots in the game while Howard Payne attempted 15, putting seven on goal, but Austin College found the back of the net when it mattered most as Tyler Marquez found Sherwood for the game winner. Franchesca Lozoya made seven stops in the net, earning the shutout victory.
Austin College will host East Texas Baptist tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in the team's home opener.
