The Austin College women's soccer team got a goal from Lauren Scott in the 63rd minute of action to give the 'Roos a 2-1 victory over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 6-10-1 overall and 5-5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the win.

Austin College controlled possession early and got on the board when Myranda Baumgartner tallied on an assist by Maddy Millender in the 18th minute, but the Crusaders squared things up when Emily Rogers blasted home a penalty kick in the 39th minute to make it 1-1 heading into the break.

Dallas had several chances early in the second half but Austin College took advantage of the counterattack, with Erica Williams sending a ball long to Lauren Scott, and Lauren Scott managed to beat Crusader keeper Brigid Hasson for the game winner at the 62:17 mark. That would be all of the cushion Austin College would need as they held on for the victory.

Austin College held a 19-7 edge in shots in the game and Emily Brockette made three saves. Hasson made seven saves for the Crusaders. Austin College hosts Centenary at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the last SCAC regular season match of the season.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
