Women's Soccer Holds Off Schreiner for 1-0 Victory

The Austin College women's soccer team got a goal from Abby Saizow late in the first half and that would be all they would need as the 'Roos held off Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Schreiner University for a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 3-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Austin College dominated play for the majority of the game, holding a 12-6 shot advantage in the first half and out-shooting the Mountaineers 8-2 after halftime. Saizow scored after taking a pass and slicing through a pair of defenders to find the net in the 39th minute of action, and Franchesca Lozoya made three saves to earn the shutout victory.

The 'Roos are back in action on Sunday when they host Texas Lutheran University at 12:00 p.m.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
