Women's Soccer Falls to Hendrix

The Austin College women's soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first half and was unable to overcome that deficit as the 'Roos dropped a 3-0 decision against visiting Hendrix College on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now 1-2 on the year with the loss.

Hendrix got on the board early when Hannah Sigda broke through the Austin College defense and placed the ball in the back of the net in the 12th minute of action, and Sigda tallied again just 11 minutes later on a feed from Vanessa Franco to make it a 2-0 game. The Warriors got another goal early in the second half, with Sigda assisting on a tally by Syndey King in the 47th minute of action.

Austin College owned an 11-7 shot advantage in the game, but Hendrix managed to put six of their seven attempts on goal on their way to the win. Emily Brockette made three saves in goal for the 'Roos in the defeat.

Austin College is back in action on Sunday as they host California Lutheran at 1:00 p.m.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
