'Roo Women's Soccer Falls to Dallas

The Austin College women's soccer team fell in a 2-0 hole and was unable to recover, falling 2-1 to the University of Dallas on Friday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 5-11-1 overall and 3-5 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss.

After more than 30 scoreless minutes of action to start the game the Crusaders struck first when Rebecca Brunter found Marin Chambers for a goal in the 33rd minute, and that's how things would remain heading into halftime. In the second half Brunter got a goal of her own, this time on an assist from Kayla Nguyen in the 70th minute to make it a 2-0 game.

Franchesca Lozoya tallied at the 72 minute mark on assists from Abby Saizow and Kelsey D'Amore to cut the margin to 2-1, but that's as close as the 'Roos would get despite a flurry of shots in the second half.

Emily Brockette made five saves for the 'Roos and Brigid Hasson made four stops for the Crusaders as Austin College owned a 17-11 shot advantage, including an 11-2 edge in the second half.
