Women's Hoops Drops Road Game at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Austin College women's basketball team struggled to get things going offensively in a road game at No. 23-ranked Colorado College, shooting 28.8% from the field and turning the ball over 22 times on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now now 7-12 overall and 3-8 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Colorado College jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the opening quarter and used a dominant 22-6 second frame to make it 38-15 at halftime. Austin College had its best offensive quarter of the game in the third, outscoring the Tigers 17-16 to make it a 54-32 game heading into the fourth but the 'Roos managed just four points in the final 10 minutes of action.

Raylee McDonald was the lone 'Roo to notch double figures, scoring 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting while grabbing six rebounds and handing out a pair of assists, and Avory Miller chipped in eight points, six rebounds, and three assists in the loss. Brooklyn Matthews added six points and six rebounds for the 'Roos, while Zoe Tomlinson paced Colorado College with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocked shots.

Austin College will be back in action on Sunday when they take on the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
