Cold Fourth Quarter Dooms 'Roos

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team went into the fourth quarter trailing the University of Dallas just 46-45, but the 'Roos went cold in the fourth quarter, scoring only four points in a 60-49 road loss to their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rivals on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams struggled shooting the ball in the game, with Dallas hitting only 33% of its attempts, and just 3-of-20 from long range, while the 'Roos hit 29.9% overall and 6-of-25 from deep. The big scoring difference came from the free throw line, where the Crusaders hit 15-of-24, while the 'Roos got only seven trips to the stripe and made three. Austin College also turned the ball over 15 times, compared to 10 for the Crusaders.

Amarys Cuellar led all scorers with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, adding seven rebounds and three assists in the loss. Lexi Martin added nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals, and Avory Miller chipped in seven points off the bench. Three players reached double-figures for Dallas, with Alyssa Sullivan leading the way with 12 points while Tessa Hastings and Caroline Croft each scored 11.
