TLU Used Big Fourth Quarter to Top 'Roos

SEGUIN, Texas - Texas Lutheran out-scored the Austin College women's basketball team 25-10 in the fourth quarter, hitting 4-of-5 threes in the period to come from behind and top the 'Roos 72-68 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Semifinals on Saturday. The 'Roos finish the season with a 20-6 overall record.

Austin College was in control early and maintained a double-digit lead for much of the game, but Texas Lutheran caught fire from long distance while the 'Roos went 0-for-5 from deep in the final quarter. The 'Roos had lead 58-47 heading into the fourth, and were up 66-57 with just under six minutes to play before a 7-0 run for the Bulldogs cut it to a 66-64 game. Bryce Frank scored to make it a four-point cushion with 3:04 left, but those would be the last points of the game for Austin College. A triple for TLU and a basket by Dominique Campos put the Bulldogs ahead for good with 51 seconds to play, and the 'Roos were unable to counter.

Kacie West came off the bench to score 24 points, knocking down six three pointers, and Frank finished her career with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Ann Savage and Addison Walling each scored nine for the 'Roos, who were just 3-of-13 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
