'Roo Women Fall to Southwestern in Regular Season Finale

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team fell 50-46 to Southwestern on Saturday night, bringing their overall record to 20-5 on the year and 13-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Bryce Frank scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, pushing her career rebounding total to 1,004. That makes her just the fourth player in SCAC history to top the 1,000-rebound mark. The 'Roos struggled to get anything going offensively throughout the game, shooting just 34% from the field and connecting on just 2-of-13 three pointers. Southwestern led 37-26 early in the third quarter before the 'Roos started to rally back, finding themselves trailing 43-36 heading into the fourth quarter. The 'Roos pulled to within one at 47-46 with 48 seconds left but were unable to grab the lead down the stretch.

Frank made 9-of-16 shots from the field, but was the only player to reach double figures in the scoring column for the 'Roos. Natalie McCoy came off the bench to score nine for Austin College, and Ann Savage had six points and three assists.

Austin College heads into the SCAC Tournament hosted by Texas Lutheran as the No. 2-seed, and will take on the winner of Friday's quarterfinal matchup between TLU and Schreiner.
