SHERMAN, Texas –The Austin College women's basketball team limited Johnson & Wales to just 10 made field goals and dominated the boards 51-to-24 on their way to a 65-33 victory on Friday evening in Hughey Gym. The 'Roos are now 18-4 overall and 11-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Bryce Frank scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the 'Roos, who grabbed 21 offensive rebounds as a team. That led to 14 second-chance points, compared to zero second-chance points for the Wildcats. 

After a sluggish start that saw the 'Roos score just four points in four minutes, Austin College started to get things rolling and led 18-8 after the first quarter. The 'Roos struggled from the field in the second quarter, hitting just 4-of-16 shots, but managed to extend their lead thanks to six offensive boards, including one by Reagan Chiaverini just before the end of the half, which the sophomore converted into a buzzer-beating layup to make it 31-16 at the break.

Austin College scored the first six points of the second half to open up a 37-16 lead, and the margin would grow to 52-21 heading into the fourth as Chiaverini once again beat the buzzer, this time with a three-pointer to give the 'Roos their first 30-point lead of the game. The 'Roos would coast from there, finishing off a 32-point victory.

Frank made 7-of-10 shots from the field and both of her free throw attempts to get to 16 points, and five of her 16 rebounds came on the offensive glass. Frank now has 51 career double-doubles, one shy of the SCAC record held by former 'Roo Katy Williams. She also handed out four assists in the win. Chiaverini finished with 15 points and six rebounds, and Addison Walling scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, and added four assists. 

Johnson & Wales got 14 points from Brianna Bailey, who added seven rebounds in the game. The Wildcats shot just 22.2% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.

Austin College wraps up its home portion of the schedule tomorrow as the 'Roos host Colorado College at 5:30 p.m. Austin College will also be celebrating Senior Night, with the program's four seniors being recognized immediately following the game.
