Trinity Uses Big Fourth Quarter to Top 'Roos

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team lead Trinity 45-43 after three quarters, but the Tigers took control in the fourth to top the 'Roos 67-57 on Friday night. The 'Roos are now 16-4 overall and 9-2 in SCAC play.

Bryce Frank scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to pace the 'Roos and Ally Longaker added 10 points and eight rebounds, but the 'Roos turned the ball over 29 times and managed to hit just 4-of-15 three pointers. Austin College out-rebounded the Tigers 36-29 and held Trinity to 41.4% shooting, but 28 points off of turnovers proved to be the big difference. 

Austin College led 14-10 after the first quarter, but the Tigers fought back and took a 26-24 lead at the break. Ann Savage knocked down a pair of threes and Frank and Reagan Chiaverini each scored five in the third quarter as Austin College surged back into the lead, but the Tigers hit 8-of-13 shots in the fourth quarter to outscore the 'Roos 24-12 in the final frame.

Frank hit 7-of-11 shots from the field and added three steals, and Kacie West and Addison Walling each scored eight for the 'Roos. Trinity's Abby Holland scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while adding six steals. Austin College will be looking to bounce back on Saturday as they take on Schreiner in Kerrville.
