Women's Hoops Earns Road Win Over Lynx

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After suffering their first setback of the season on Friday night, the No. 19-ranked Austin College women's basketball team bounced back with an 84-75 victory over previously unbeaten Rhodes on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 5-1 on the year.

The 'Roos got a big game from Bryce Frank, who came up one point shy of matching her career best with 31 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Frank also added 13 rebounds, with nine of those boards coming on the offensive glass. Frank was clutch from the free throw line down the stretch as well, finishing the game hitting 9-of-10 from the stripe. Kacie West got hot from long distance, hitting 6-of-11 threes to pour in a career high 28 points while grabbing six rebounds and coming away with three steals. Ann Savage matched her career best with eight assists, and Caitlyn Collins chipped in eight points while Addison Walling had eight boards and three assists.

Austin College fell behind early as Rhodes got out to a fast start from beyond the arc, hitting 7-of-11 threes to open the game. However, as the Lynx got cold from three point range, Frank and West took control and the 'Roos won each of the last three quarters to earn the big non-conference win.

Austin College is off this week for finals, but continues its tough December slate on December 13 when the 'Roos hit the road to take on 7-1 Hardin-Simmons, before returning to Hughey Gym on December 15 to take on 5-2 Hendrix.
