RICHARDSON, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team struggled to get things going offensively in their season opener, falling 67-47 on the road at the University of Texas-Dallas on Wednesday night.

The 'Roos hit just 3-of-21 three pointers and turned the ball over 18 times, and the Comets grabbed 15 offensive rebounds in addition to scoring 20 points off of turnovers. UTD also out-scored Austin College 12-2 in fast break points, and limited the 'Roos to just four second chance points in the game. Austin College got out to an early lead before UTD took a 12-11 advantage after the opening quarter, but it was during the second and third quarters that the Comets took control. UTD pushed the margin to 30-21 at halftime, and scored the first 10 points of the third quarter to build a commanding 40-21 lead and put the game out of reach.
