Austin College Holds Off Centenary in Regular Season Finale

The Austin College women's basketball team held off Centenary for a 75-64 win on Saturday in the team's regular season finale in Shreveport. The 'Roos now head to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3-seed with an 18-7 overall record and 10-4 mark in conference play.

The 'Roos struggled to pull away from Centenary through the first three quarters, trailing 22-21 after the first before taking a narrow 36-32 lead into halftime. Austin College held a 53-48 lead after three quarters, and only managed to put the Ladies away after Bryce Frank scored 13 points in the first three and a half minutes of the fourth quarter.

Frank entered the fourth with just two points, but scored 15 in the final frame to finish with 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds and five assists. It's her eight consecutive double-double, and with her 11 rebounds she finishes the regular season as the SCAC's leading reounder. Kendra Rainey added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Ann Savage hit 3-of-5 threes on her way to 11 points.

Austin College takes on No. 6-seed Dallas on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in a first round game at the SCAC Tournament in Georgetown.
