'Roos Top Schreiner for 10th Win

The Austin College women's basketball team picked up a 50-40 victory over Schreiner University on Saturday, giving the 'Roos their 10th win of the season and bringing their record to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in SCAC play.

Austin College raced out to a big lead after the first quarter, taking a 21-8 lead before the offense stalled in the second quarter. The 'Roos scored just two points in the second, and went into the locker room hanging onto a 23-22 lead.

The 'Roos took a 34-30 lead into the fourth quarter, when Kendall Heitmeier and Olivia Bailey combined to score 13 of the team's 16 points to close out the game and help the team earn the 10 point victory. Bailey scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out four assists and Heitmeier added 12 points and 10 rebounds. 

Bryce Frank chipped in eight points and 11 rebounds, as the 'Roos dominated on the glass and pulled down 20 offensive boards as a team.
