'Roo Women Fall to Millsaps 63-50

The Austin College women's basketball struggled offensively, falling 63-50 on the road against Millsaps on Wednesday. The 'Roos have dropped three in a row to fall to 6-3 overall this season.

The 'Roos shot just 30.2% from the field, and made just 5-of-18 three pointers while hitting only 13-of-22 free throws and turned the ball over 21 times in the game. Austin College was unable to overcome those offensive woes against the Majors, who the 'Roos topped earlier this season in Shreveport.

Millsaps led by as many as 19 points in the third quarter, and held a double digit lead for most of the fourth. A three pointer from Caitlyn Collins with 1:32 left cut it to 57-50, but the Majors would score the final six points of the game to hand the 'Roos the 13 point loss.

Katie Gowdy scored 10 points to lead Austin College, hitting 2-of-3 three pointers, and Meghan Lewis added eight points off the bench. Chrissy Ray scored eight points, grabbed four boards, and blocked three shots, while Bri Harvey grabbed a team-best nine rebounds in the loss. Collins and Bryce Frank each scored six points, with Frank adding seven rebounds in the game.
