'Roos Cruise Past Centenary for Second Straight Win

Chrissy Ray came off the bench to pour in a career high 20 points and the Austin College women's basketball team cruised to a 74-44 road victory at Centenary College on Sunday. The win is the second straight for Austin College, and the 'Roos improve to 7-8 overall and 2-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Austin College fell behind 6-1 early, but used a 12-2 run to grab a 13-8 lead with 9:41 left in the opening half. Centenary scored the next five to tie things up, and the Ladies took a 17-16 lead before a three from Erin Riley put the 'Roos back on top for good.

After Centenary made a pair of free throws to cut it to a 23-19 game with 5:58 left in the half, the 'Roos closed on a 14-3 run to head into the locker room leading 37-22 and never looked back. Austin College knocked down nine threes and hounded Centenary into 23 turnovers, while also limiting the Ladies to just 26.9% shooting from the field.

Ray made 8-of-15 shots to reach her career high, and added seven rebounds. Christina Kime scored 17 while handing out nine assists and grabbing five boards, and 11 players factored into the scoring for Austin College.
