The Austin College women's basketball team fell in a big first half hole and was unable to climb out, falling 78-49 at Millsaps College on Thursday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 3-4 overall with the loss.

The Majors jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back, as Austin College struggled from the field throughout the first half. The 'Roos shot just 19.4% from the field and made 1-of-12 three pointers in the opening frame, while Millsaps shot 48.4% from the floor to take a 47-18 halftime lead. Millsaps also used a 26-14 rebounding edge in the first half.

The 'Roos started to come alive offensively in the second half, hitting four three pointers and getting 15 combined points from Erin Riley and Kendall Heitmeier, but it proved to be too late to put a dent in the Millsaps lead. Heitmeier came off the bench to score 10 points to lead Austin College, while Riley finished with eight points and seven boards. Brianna Harvey added eight points in the loss.

Three players reached double figures for Millsaps, led by Velvet Johnson's 24, while Miah Brooks grabbed 17 rebounds as the Majors owned a 44-29 edge on the glass.
