Hot Shooting TLU Runs Away from 'Roo Women in Second Half

The Austin College women's basketball team trailed by only seven at the half, but Texas Lutheran caught fire from three point range and scored 53 second half points to hand the 'Roos an 88-67 loss on Saturday. The 'Roos are now 9-9 overall and 4-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

After heading into the break down 35-28, the 'Roos saw the Bulldogs drill nine second half three pointers as they outscored Austin College 53-39 after halftime. For the game, TLU knocked down 13-of-26 three pointers to hand the 'Roos the loss.

Brittany Stepanski led the 'Roos with 17 points and Erin Riley scored 16 and grabbed six rebounds. Riley hit 4-of-7 threes, the only four triples for the 'Roos in the game. Briana Harvey was the only other 'Roo to hit double figures in the scoring column, tallying 10 points off the bench and adding five boards. The 'Roos scored 31 of their points from the free throw line and held a 42-39 rebounding edge in the game.
