'Roo Women's Hoops Top Colorado College in SCAC Opener

The Austin College women's basketball team got 19 points and eight rebounds from Christina Kime and held off Colorado College for a 70-60 win in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for the 'Roos. Austin College is now 6-5 overall with the win.

The 'Roos got 16 first half points from Erin Riley as they took a 37-34 lead at halftime, with Riley burying 4-of-7 threes in the opening stanza. Kime scored nine of her 19 points in the first half to help Austin College grab the lead heading into the break.

With the score 47-44 midway through the second half, Kime scored eight points in the final 11 minutes to help Austin College push the lead to as much as 13 at 65-52 and the 'Roos wewre able to coast from there. Kime finished the game hitting 5-of-11 shots and also added three assists, and Riley finished with 16. Brittany Stepanski scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in the victory.
