Women's Hoops Picks Up Second Win

The Austin College women's basketball team had four players reach double digits in the scoring column as the 'Roos topped Hendrix 70-66 on Saturday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 2-3 overall this season with the victory.

After leading 31-30 at halftime, the 'Roos found themselves trailing 66-65 with just over two minutes remaining in the game. However, Brittany Stepanski knocked down a short jumper to put the 'Roos on top for good, and Christina Kime and Erin Riley combined to hit three of four free throws to ice the game down the stretch.

Stepanski led the 'Roos with 18 points to lead all scorers, and Kime finished with 13 points and four assists. Riley posted and Brooke Melton each posted a double-double, with Riley scoring 12 and grabbing 12 boards while Melton scored 11 and pulled down 11 rebounds in the win.
