Big Second Half Not Enough for 'Roo Women's Hoops

The Austin College women's basketball team erupted for 44 second half points and got 20 points from Erin Riley, but it was not enough as the 'Roos fell 88-70 to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leading Trinity University on the road on Friday night. The 'Roos are now 9-12 overall and 3-8 in conference play with the loss.

Trinity led 48-26 at halftime before the 'Roos outscored the Tigers 44-40 after the break, but the 'Roos were unable to overcome the big halftime deficit. Riley hit 5-of-8 three pointers and added nine rebounds in the loss while Christina Kime scored 11 points and handed out four assists, and Brooke Melton added 10 points and eight boards.

Trinity hit 11-of-20 three pointers and shot 46.4% from the field for the game and hounded the 'Roos into 22 turnovers in the game.
