Turnovers Prove Costly for 'Roo Women's Hoops

The Austin College women's basketball team hit nearly 50% of its three pointers but 25 turnovers proved to be too costly for the 'Roos in a 66-58 loss at Rhodes on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 4-7 overall this season.

Austin College fell in a 40-24 hole in the first half before battling back in the second half thanks in large part to some hot shooting as the team knocked down 8-of-17 threes in the game, led by three apiece from Shayna Clardy and Erin Riley. However, it would not be enough as the 'Roos were unable to overcome that first half deficit.

Clardy hit 3-of-6 threes on her way to a team-high 14 points, Riley hit 3-of-5 from downtown on her way to 11 points, and Brittany Stepanski scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.
